Day 1, Arrival in Kigali
Our Representative from Span Safaris will meet you at the Airport and brief you about your booked Safari with us.  If you arrive early, you will include a short Kigali City tour on the tour itinerary. You will visit the magnificent capital city of Kigali and tour places like the Genocide Memorial Sites, Education Centre, Memorial Gardens and National Documentation Centre. After the city tour, you will be transferred to your assigned place of accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Step Town Hotel for budget/Golf Hills Residence or Hotel Chezlando for mid range/Kigali Serena Hotel or Hotel Des Mill Collins for Luxury

Day 2, Transfer to Akagera National Park
After breakfast, tour, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park where you will reach in time for lunch. Upon reaching the Park, have lunch and in the afternoon go for the afternoon game drive to view some wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge for Luxury/Umbrella Hotel for Budget and mid range

Day 3, Game drive and boat ride
After breakfast, you will go for the early morning game drive with in Akagera National Park. Before sunrise, you can be able to spot different wildlife animals such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, buffalo, warthog, and if you are lucky, you can be able to see the astray lion, spotted Hyena and the Leopard.  Return back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, depart for the boat ride on Lake Ihema. This will expose you to animals which are water loving such as the Hippos, crocodiles and the water loving birds. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 4, Transfer back to Kigali
After breakfast, you will return back to Kigali. En route as you exit the Park, have a game drive and later proceed to Kigali. Have lunch and spend the afternoon exploring Kigali city by yourself without any guide. Day 5, Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park via Butare
After breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park via Butare which is the country’s second largest city. En route you will visit Nyanza which is presently called Nyabisindu to pay a visit to the former Mwami’s palace (King’s palace) and the base of the feudal kingdom. Butare is also known as Huye and it hosts the country’s cultural National Museum which is one of the best source of information on the country’s cultural history. Butare also hosts the National University of Rwanda, the Ruhande Arboretum, research institutions like the Rwandan National Institute of Scientific Research, and a cathedral plus botanical gardens. Have Lunch in Butare town and later transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House for Budget/Nyungwe Forest Lodge for Luxury

Day 6, Primates walk in Nyungwe
After breakfast, you will assemble at Uwinka tourist information centre for briefing before you start your hike in Nyungwe forest. The park hosts 25% of the African Primates. We recommend good hiking books for this day. En route you will encounter different species of the primates like Angolan Colobus, black and white Colobus and so many others. The hiking time is unpredictable because these primates move from time to time in search for shelter and food. Although some times the ranger guides may know where to find them. Have picnic lunch and in the afternoon go for the water fall walk which all offer good scenic views near Gisakura. Day 7, Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe
After breakfast, you will go for the chimp trek activity in the forest. You are advised to start on your journey at 5:00 am so that reach the area in time where the trek starts from. There are well maintained trails which will enable you access these chimps. En route you will see other different primate species like the L’hoest monkeys and blue monkeys. Upon encountering the chimps, observe their behaviors and how they play. (Enjoy the presence of these Man’s closes friends). Return for lunch and in the afternoon, join the canopy walk where you will see different bird species in the tree canopies. Day 8, Transfer to Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu
After breakfast, you will transfer to Kibuye. En route you will pass through the green fields of tea plantations before exploring the shorelines of Lake Kivu. Kibuye town is the most beautiful resort of the three towns on Lake Kivu. Upon reaching the resort, have relaxation activities like swimming and so on. Day 9, Transfer to Gisenyi by Speed boat
After breakfast, you will take a speed boat to Gisenyi. En route you will encounter different fishing villages which will offer you with an opportunity to interact with the local people of Idjwi Island who move long distances with a canoe to visit the Rwanda Markets. This boat ride will also give you a clear view of the Nyiragongo Volcano in DRC. Reach Gisenyi town in time for Dinner and overnight stay at Kivu Sun Hotel for Budget/Malahide Paradise or Palm beach Hotel for mid range /Kivu Serena Hotel for Luxury

Day 10, Transfer to Kinigi
After breakfast, you will go for nature walk along the shore of Lake. Have lunch and in the afternoon transfer to Ruhengeri where you will prepare yourself for the next day Gorilla Trek. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House for Budget or Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for Mid range or Mountain Gorilla view lodge or Virunga Lodge for Luxury.

Day 11, Rwanda Gorilla trek
You will take breakfast early morning before you report to Parc National Des Volcans head quarters in Kinigi for a gorilla trek registration and briefing. After this, you will set off and enter the Virunga forest for the gorilla trek search. The time taken to search for these rare Mountain Gorillas varies with how close they are and some times, its unpredictable of their natural habitat. You will pass through steep slopes and valleys and once you reach your allocated Gorilla group, you will only be allowed to spend with them one hour and later you will return back. However, the one hour you will spend with them, will be very interesting, take photographs and the experience you will get, will be so interesting and this will make the highlight of your Rwanda Safari. Return back to the lodge for lunch and if time allows, you will visit the little known gorgeous Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. Day 12, Golden Monkeys and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda
After breakfast, you will report back to ORTPN for Golden Monkey briefing and registration. This trek will offer you an exceptional primate experience. You will see them as they inter relate with each other, play and behave when they see the visitors.  Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will transfer to Kabale region in Uganda. Day 13, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will go for a morning boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi and visit the different Islands on the Lake. After this, you will transfer to Bwindi Park via Kabale which is commonly known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa”. You will reach Bwindi in the afternoon where you retire to your assigned place of accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Bandas or Wagtail Eco Safari Camp for Budget/ Nkuringo Gorilla Camp or Buhoma Lodge for Mid range / Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Resort or Gorilla Forest Camp for Luxury

Day 14, Bwindi Gorilla Trek
You will wake up very early in the morning for breakfast and transfer to your starting point for the Gorilla trek briefing which is made by the Uganda Wildlife Authority wardens. You are advised to travel with your lunch boxes and bottled water.  Your ranger guide will lead you to the forest and will guide you along the way about the flora and fauna existing in the forest until when you reach the Gorilla family allocated to you. The Mountain Gorillas are so extra ordinary and they are one of the most elating primate encounter in the world. There are currently only almost 700 still existing in the world and almost half of these Gorillas are found in Bwindi in Uganda. Depending on where the Gorillas were last night, the trek takes between 2 to 8 hours. However an encounter with these friendly primates will be so exciting and wonderful (Once a life time encounter and experience which is hard to forget). Their encounter will enable you to forget all the steep slopes and valleys you have gone through. Day 15, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will depart with your packed lunch for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as Ishasha which is famous for its rare tree climbing lions. The en route game drive will offer you with views of the tree climbing lions, buffaloes, elephants, topis and so on. Reach your assigned place of accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Simba Safari Camp for Budget/ Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge for Mid range / Mweya Safari Lodge for Luxury

Day 16, Game drive and launch cruise
After breakfast, you will go for the morning game drive in the park (Kasenyi area) and search for different wildlife such as Lions, Elephants, buffaloes, leopards, antelopes, Warthogs, and a lot of Kobs. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will go for the launch cruise along the Kazinga channel. The channel attracts a lot of wildlife and a lot of bird species. Day 17, Transfer to Kibale National Park and Chimp trek in the afternoon
Early morning, you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park with en route views of the great Mountains of the Moon. Upon arrival, you will prepare for your afternoon chimp trek with in the forest. The briefing and the trek starts from Kanyachu the Park headquarters at 14:00hrs. While in the forest expect to encounter different primate species besides the chimps since the forest has 13 primate species. Expect to see the grey-cheeked mangabey and red-tailed monkey. Besides primates, there are also a lot of bird species in the forest. Once you come across the chimps, you will enjoy the company of these man’s closest friends. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimp Nest or Kibale Forest camp for mid range/Chimpanzee guest house for budget/ Ndali Safari Lodge or Primates Lodge for Luxury.

Day 18, Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will set out for your long drive to Murchison falls National Park via Hoima. En route you will see different local community homesteads which will give you a clear view of a true African Culture. Also you will pass through different green vegetation fields of tea. Have lunch in Hoima town and later continue with your journey to Masindi town where you will reach in the afternoon. Proceed to the Park and enter through the Kichumbanyobo gate. Later transfer to your assigned accommodation place for dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge for up market/Sambiya River Lodge for mid range/Red chill camp for budget

Day 19, Game drive and Albert Nile Launch Cruise
After breakfast, you will set out for the early morning game drive in the Northern sector of the Park. With the help of your driver and a ranger guide, you will be able to search and see animals like Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Giraffes, waterbucks, Orbi, bush backs, warthogs and so many others.  Return back to your lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon, take a 3 hours launch cruise to the bottom of the falls, en route, you will be able to see a lot of hippos, Crocodiles, elephants and other animals taking water, and also a variety of bird species such crested crane, black and white eagle will be seen along the search and if you are lucky, you will encounter the legendary shoe bill and many other animals. Day 20, Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will Visit the mighty top of the falls and experience the beauty of Murchison falls. You will see where River Nile waters squeeze its self through a 7 metres wide crevice into the narrow gorge of 48 metres.  Later transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and Lunch. Reach Kampala in the evening and drop off will be at either your Hotel or at the Airport for your flight back home and fly out.
